Solange suits up in Twenty8Twelve and Esteban Cortazar.

Who says dresses are the only acceptable attire for after five events? If Solange Knowles’ recent fashion choices are any indication, suits are a more than fashionable alternative. The singer, DJ, and sometimes actor donned two suited looks recently, and we think she might be on to something.

Solange’s first menswear inspired ensemble was a look from the Esteban Cortazar Resort 2013 collection, worn to a fundraiser for President Obama, that was hosted by big sis Beyoncé and brother-in-law Jay Z.

Solange’s ivory, duchess silk blazer ($1,435) featured a cape back, that only those with the strongest of fashion fortitudes could successfully pull off. The style forward blazer was paired with a matching mini skirt ($680), and accessorized with a Kayu ‘Audrey’ shell purse ($569), and Tom Ford heels.

Solange’s second suited look was a matching cotton candy pink blazer and shorts set from Twenty8Twelve. Her blazer ($435) featured origami folding across the front, and a high, round neckline. The matching high-waist shorts ($245) were added, and Solange completed her look with a black and white Preen top.

Black and white continued to be a common theme with her look, as Solange wore a black and white pair of Nicholas Kirkwood slingback heels ($965). Her Charlotte Olympia ‘London 2012 Pandora’ perspex clutch ($965) added a bit of whimsy to her ensemble.
