Yes, that 90s fashion comeback is real. And yes, normcore is threatening to turn the style game on its head. But no, that doesn’t mean an era of tasteless fashion is on the horizon.

Take a page from the style playbook of the youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner Klan, Kylie Jenner, and dabble in both the 90s and normcore trends by adding a contemporary edge to the otherwise innocuous looks.

Kylie has big shoes to fill following in the fashion footsteps of sisters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Kendall, and a recent Miami outing with the fam showed she’s ready to rise to the occasion.

Kylie took to the streets to do a little shopping, and expertly styled a khaki pair of ASOS overalls ($34) with a white cropped tee and gold pups.

Separately they’re three decidedly on trend pieces that together shouldn’t combine to create an outfit that makes any sense, yet for Kylie they do just that.

The crop top and tailored fit of the overalls gives Kylie’s ‘fit a distinct silhouette, and the gold shoes add a bit of glam.

Overalls can be hit or miss depending on the styling and fit, but Kylie’s Miami ready ensemble proves that even when it comes fashion, where there’s a will there’s a way.

Here’s to hoping her upcoming turn in Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past leads to more Hollywood opportunities for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, because her red-carpet style deserves notice.

Case in point: Fan was the epitome of Parisian Chic as she took in the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2014 runway show in (where else?) Paris.

As she posed for photogs outside the event’s Louvre location, Fan was a breath of fresh, sophisticated air wearing a leather coat from Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection paired to perfection with dark oversized sunnies, a Louis Vuitton bag, and suede platform peep-toe heels.

And to complete her diva ready ensemble, Fan added a bold lip in the perfect shade of red.

It’s like that H&M partnership never happened. Beyoncé has a well documented love of Topshop that’s showing no signs of letting up.

The Drunk in Love singer took a break from the European leg of her Mrs. Carter Tour, and made it a date night with hubby Jay-Z at The Arts Club in London.

With her signature blonde locks on full display, Beyoncé kept her style fun and flirty in a Topshop stripe satin dress ($140).

For her low-key outing, King Bey kept the rest of her look equally understated.

A pair of classic black pumps, and a hoodie she used to keep photogs from getting unflattering shots as she jumped into a waiting car were the only additions to her outfit.

A great pair of glasses are often the perfect way to finish off fab outfit. Be they fashion lenses, prescription lenses, or sunglasses (a celeb fave), eyeglasses of all types are small accessories that pack major style punch.

But what happens when your favorite pair of $200+ designer lenses don’t sit so perfectly on your face anymore?

Too low on the nose? Right lense higher than the left? Bridge pinching your nose? No worries. Skip the trip to your optician, and give DIY a try.

Oh, to be young and rich, jet setting around the world, walking the streets of Paris wearing Topshop, Christopher Kane, and Miu Miu.

Such is the life of fifteen-year-old actress Elle Fanning.

The Miu Miu campaign star was in Paris to take in the fashion house’s Fall 2014 runway show, and was spotted strolling around the city of lights decked out in her finest Miu Miu gear.

Elle started simple with her outfit, pairing a Christopher Kane sheer button up shirt ($690) with a pair of black skinny jeans with strategically placed rips at the knee.

To add more than a bit of color to her otherwise monochromatic look, Elle donned an oversized pea green coat courtesy of Topshop.

We’ve talked about how statement coats can make or break a look, and Elle’s chosen number is definitely on the ‘make’ side of the style equation.

Topshop and ripped jeans can probably be found in the closets of most teenagers, but Elle’s high end accessories? Not so much.

This is when being an A-list Hollywood starlet comes in handy, because not too many fifteen-year-olds can lay claim to owning so many designer pieces.

Elle elevated her off-duty outfit with Miu Miu 56mm Sunnies ($335), a Miu Miu ‘Madras’ shoulder bag ($1,520), and Miu Miu ‘Donna’ jeweled pumps ($990).

It appears bold black and white stripes are becoming something of a trend in celebrity fashion.

The look first popped up on the small screen on VH1’s Single Ladies, where actress Denise Vasi rocked a cute two piece number that was the definition of fun and flirty.

Proving that Single Ladies stylist Anthony Williams was onto something, actress Zendaya Coleman went bold Oscars weekend wearing a black and white striped creation from Nicci Hou on the red-carpet of the Fame and Philanthropy Post-Oscar Party.

Zendaya is busy transitioning into her post-Disney career, and has so far used the red-carpet to great effect in establishing herself as a Hollywood fashionista to watch.

Her Nicci Hou ensemble featured a long sleeved crop top with an open back, and matching full length ballroom skirt.

It’s a look that perfectly captures the glamour of Awards Season fashion, but still allows Zendaya’s youthful charm to shine through.

With an outfit this dramatic, Zendaya wisely opted to go classic and timeless with her styling, allowing the bold black and white graphics of her outfit to truly shine.

A simple updo and bright red lip finished off her look.

Do we really need words for this? With only one glimpse, your eyes should be able to see what hasn’t yet been said.

lupita-nyong-o-oscars-academy-awards-prada-dress-press-roomA star has been born dahling.

12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o glided onto the red-carpet of the 86th Annual Academy Awards and it was as if all of Hollywood stopped.

Wearing a custom Prada creation made from a pale blue silk georgette that billowed gracefully with every step she took, Lupita had already become an Oscar winner the moment she stepped onto the red-carpet.

She was undoubtedly the best dressed of the night, with both the deep v-neckline and deep v open back of the dress certifying its head-turning status.

Also elevating Lupita’s red-carpet look? The gorgeous blue color of her dress, which was dubbed ‘Nairobi blue’ for the night. Of the color’s significance to her, Lupita said:

“It’s a blue that reminds me of Nairobi, and so I wanted to have a little bit of home.”

In addition to possibly sparking a new color trend, Lupita definitely started a hair accessories trend with the golden headband she wore for the night.

Except to see headbands everywhere this Spring. See, ladies, this is how you start a trend.

Lupita topped off her Oscars ensemble with jewels from Fred Leighton, including a statement making pair of diamond encrusted ear cuffs.

To complete her look she donned a satin pair of platform sandals courtesy of Prada, and carried a Prada ‘Raso’ stone covered satin box clutch ($2100)

Last, but certainly not least, Lupita’s makeup was perfection as usual.

When we last checked in with The Haves and the Have Nots star Tika Sumpter, she was battling it out with fellow actress Lupita Nyong’o on who rocked their white cut out dress best.

Lupita decidedly won that fashion face-off, with commenters (on Instagram) arguing that Tika’s style was just a smidge too revealing.

Well, at the seventh annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon Tika proved that she can werq a ‘ladies who lunch’ look as fabulously as she can floss a Cushnie et Ochs frock.

With subtle makeup and a braided up ‘do, Tika styled on the event’s white carpet wearing a Bibhu Mohapatra dress from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection.

She styled the sky blue and emerald green midi length dress with a cream Saint Laurent box clutch, and royal blue Saint Laurent ‘Jane’ ankle strap sandals ($795).

If you’ve watched any season of anthology series American Horror Story (if you haven’t, you should remedy that) then this pairing should make perfect sense to you.

Announced today, two time Oscar winning actress Jessica Lange has been tapped as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty.

Over the course of her American Horror Story run, Jessica has portrayed a string of strong, capable women, who more often than not look good even when they’re doing bad.

There’s a certain innate sultriness to Jessica Lange, and if the above teaser campaign image is any indication, photographer David Sims has captured it perfectly.

Be on the lookout for future campaign images, but in the meantime, catch up on American Horror Story or browse around the Marc Jacbos Beauty website for your perfect picks.

The career of a high fashion runway model is pretty short lived these days. The era of The Supers and their decades long careers is essentially over.

So it’s a testament to the talents and brains behind the beauties that are Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn that both models have not only managed to work consistently in the industry, but have also maintained ‘top model’ statuses.

Chanel Iman splashed onto the fashion scene back in 2007 when Vogue Magazine dubbed her one of The World’s Next Top Models.

Since then she’s had a career of highlights including becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel and making her 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue debut.

To celebrate that latest achievement, Chanel attended the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit South Beach Soiree looking every bit the top model she is.

She donned a two-piece ensemble from the Fausto Puglisi Resort 2014 collection that featured a cropped top, and flared a-line mini skirt. Chanel completed the look with Giuseppe Zanotti black and gold studded ankle strap sandals.

Chanel is currently battling it out with this year’s other Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue newbies for the title of ‘Rookie of the Year’, but considering her high fashion and commercial success, she’s already a winner.

Like Chanel, Jourdan Dunn also had a much talked about entry into the world of modeling when she was the first black model in ten years to walk in a Prada runway show in 2007.

That headline making debut was quickly followed by an equally as talked about turn as a cover model for Vogue Italia’s controversial ‘Black Issue’, and after nearly ten years in the modeling game, Jourdan is still making waves in the industry.

She’s currently the host of her own cooking show on Jay-Z’s Life + Times lifestyle website entitled Well Done with Jourdan Dunn, and recently partnered with Mrs. Shawn Carter herself, aka Beyoncé, for the songstress’ racy Yoncé video.

Considering her certified list of fashion credentials, it should be no surprise that Jourdan’s personal style is quite on point.

The London born beauty successfully turned it out on the red-carpet of the Elle Style Awards 2014, wearing a black and white mini dress from the Tom Ford Spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection.

Center parted loosely waved locks, and Tom Ford open toe leather booties finished off Jourdan’s ripped from the runway ensemble.
