Fashion Week (err, more like month and a half) ended with a bang, with two of the modeling industry’s biggest stars taking to the runway for the Louis Vuitton Fall 2011 collection presentation. Supers Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss came out of runway ‘retirement’ to walk for their friend, and Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs.
In a show that was big with characters, props, and a near theatrical setting, it was only fitting that Naomi and Kate, who are practically characters themselves, made an appearance. Kate, who donned hot pants and a fur sleeved top, even walked the runway smoking a cigarette. Naomi made a relatively subtler debut earlier in the show, wearing a newsboy cap, peter-pan collared top, knee length skirt, and black lace up boots.
Both ladies were joined on the runway by some of the industry’s current top stars, including Joan Smalls, Karolina Kurkova, Liu Wen, and Jourdan Dunn. The highly anticipated show more than delivered, going above and beyond to decidedly exceed expectations.
