Told y’all Jourdan Dunn was poised to have a major moment. There’s another model hosted web-series in the game right now, besides MTV’s Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss hosted House of Style, and it’s called Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn.
As part of Jay-Z‘s Life + Times lifestyle website, Jourdan plays host of her own cooking show, deftly displaying her culinary skills for the masses. Watch out Giada De Laurentiis!
For her debut ep, Jou keeps things spicy (would you expect anything less from her?), serving up a dish of Jamaican-styled jerk pork, classic rice and beans, and a side of Caribbean salsa, all while casually chatting about everything from cooking for her son, to what it was like shooting Vogue Italia’s “Black Issue” with Steven Meisel.
Why jerk pork? In the ep, Jourdan explains:
“I chose jerk because I love hot and spicy food and jerk is a big dish in the Caribbean, especially in Jamaica.”
She’s beautiful, and funny (watch the vid, you’ll never think of coconut cream the same again, lol), and now Jourdan’s proven that she can cook, too, challenging the myth that models don’t eat.
Oh, and if you think Jourdan’s new online endeavor is setting up a battle of the best model hosted web-series between her and her House of Style cohorts, think again.
Not only are Jourdan and Karlie besties, they celebrated Thanksgiving together at Jourdan’s London home, but there’s also already been an overture made from MTV for a crossover of sorts, with Jourdan hosting a models only dinner party with MTV’s House of Style hosts as the guests of honor.
“I would love to have Karlie and Joan to come over as long as they don’t mind chopping up the onions and garlic!”
See, there’s that sense of humor again. Check out the debut ep of Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn below, and be on the lookout for more to come from Miss Dunn.
