Actress Evan Rachel Wood does the ‘menswear for women’ look to perfection on a pretty regular basis, so it was no surprise to see her get it right yet again, at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
The former True Blood star donned two looks centered around the classic wardrobe staple that is the white button down shirt. Both looks yielded decidedly different results, yet both were equally stylish.
At the photo call for her new movie The Ides of March, Evan wore a suited look from Dolce & Gabbana (a design duo she’s definitely a fan of). Black pencil leg trousers, black blazer, and high neck white down button down shirt, when taken in with her sleek short hairstyle, create the perfect androgynous look. She adds a feminine touch though, in the form of Ferragamo houndstooth printed heels.
Evan continued the white button down look later at the film’s Venice Film Festival premiere, but instead of going full on menswear, she pulled off Old Hollywood glam, wearing a white, floor length shirt dress from the Alessandra Rich Fall 2011 collection.
Evan’s gown has a similar classic, polished style aesthetic to her earlier Dolce & Gabbana look, giving her overall Venice Film Festival red carpet style, a cohesive feel. Yet the Alessandra Rich creation goes feminine where the suit went masculine, allowing the look to stand out all on it’s own.
Wearing the same sleek hairstyle as earlier in the day, Evan completed her premiere look with Bulgari jewelry, and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
