Boy, aren’t these two growing up quickly. It seems like just the other day, a bright eyed, seven-year-old Dakota Fanning was stealing scenes opposite Sean Penn in I Am Sam. Now she and little sis Elle Fanning, who played a younger version of Dakota’s I Am Sam character in the film, are aging gracefully into young adulthood right before our eyes.

Both sisters have always shown an aptitude for fashion, and their penchant for taking style risks, and having fun with their ensembles was on full display at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Of the two Fanning sisters, it’s Elle who’s known to take the biggest style risks. She’s a young girl with a burgeoning love of fashion, and the most refreshing thing about her interest in designer frocks, is that she’s not afraid to have fun.

For the Twilight premiere Elle donned a fresh off the runway look from the Prada Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection. She wore a soft pink, silk origami pleated sleeveless dress, paired with stylized geta sandals.

While the dress may have some on the fence about the chicness of Elle’s outfit, I’m sure it’s the shoes that will have folks most sharply divided. Personally, there’s something about the entire look that I kind of dig. It’s perfectly appropriate for a girl of Elle’s age.

Elle might’ve turned heads with her choice of footwear, but Dakota made a big style statement of her own, debuting newly hued chestnut locks. Gone is her signature pale blonde hair, and in it’s place is a mane of dark brown.

Dakota’s new hair was shocking at first, but I must admit, I adore the darker hair color on her. It adds a missing level of maturity to her overall look. Plus, the dark brown hair plays beautifully against the emerald green color of Dakota’s Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown.
