Sometimes less is indeed more, and a little does in fact go a long way. So was the case for Best Younger Actress award winner Christel Khalil at the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards.
Amongst a sea of big hair, brightly colored frocks, and more than a few sequins, Christel stood out in a chic and timeless way, wearing the ever classic ‘little black dress’ to take home her first Emmy win.
The Daytime Emmy Awards don’t get anywhere near the level of recognition as its primetime counterpart, usually treated as the red headed step child of awards ceremonies. And because the nominees are often lesser known, and therefore aren’t being loaned designer frocks from high end fashion houses, the red carpet styling usually leaves a lot to be desired.
But Christel knocked it out of the park with this look, pairing a black satin halter dress from Shareen. The ‘Cameron’ is an original design from Shareen’s new contemporary collection Shareen, that features a cinched waist and full, tulip skirt.
Christel completed her look with matching black satin heels for a simple, yet stylish ensemble that stands out from the crowd in a subtle and more than effective way. If you’re in the L.A. or New York area, where Shareen has locations, be sure to check them out.
If you can’t make it to either coast, no worries, eDressMe has a very similar dress available for $164.
