William and Kate make their American arrival. Kate wears a Diane von Furstenberg ‘Maja’ dress.

The Royals have set foot on American soil, and unlike during their Canadian sojourn, where she stuck mostly to navys and greys, Catherine Middleton has decided to inject a bit of bold color into her wardrobe.

During a private reception held at the British Consul-General’s residence in Los Angeles on Friday, Catherine wore a brightly hued Diane von Furstenberg ‘Maja’ belted silk dress, that almost matched perfectly to the lawn. Coincidentally, the official color name of the dress is, in fact, ‘lawn,’ a fun shade of green that calls to mind a fresh blade of summer grass.

Catherine didn’t let the fashion fun end with her dress either. She accessorized her look with a Diane von Furstenberg ‘Lytton’ snakeskin clutch. Of course she had to go ‘traditional’ somewhere with her ensemble, and she did that with a pair of nude patent heels.

You can get Catherine’s ‘Maja’ dress for $398 from Saks, and you can find her ‘Lytton’ clutch, on sale at Neiman Marcus for $264.
