Duchess of Cambridge Catherine Middletion continues to ease into her new life as a Royal. So far she’s met with Barack and Michelle Obama, celebrated the Queen’s birthday, and now she’s attending her first military function.
Catherine, along with husband Prince William, attended the Irish Guards Medal Parade at the Victoria Barracks in Windsor, England. And she styled her ensemble accordingly, wearing a navy wool military inspired Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 coat.
For such an official occasion, you’d think it would be difficult to inject style into an appropriate ensemble, but with one coat, Catherine manages to do so, and she does it well. Her double breasted coat has several military inspired details. From the epaulets on the shoulder, to the brass buttons down the coat’s front, to its clean and simple silhouette, Catherine’s coat allows her to fit right in with her husband and the other military members present at the event.
Since choosing the McQueen brand to design her wedding dress, Catherine has worn the designer on several other occasions. Considering how well she wears McQueen, it’s easy to understand why Catherine remains loyal to the British fashion house.
