In ‘It must be nice’ news, Chanel hosts a dinner in honor of Blake Lively, during Paris Fashion Week.

She’s definitely the celebrity darling of the fashion industry, and now Blake Lively’s status was made official, with a Chanel hosted dinner held in her honor during Paris Fashion Week on Saturday (Mar 5). Attended by Blake’s parents, the event even drew out fashion’s head HBIC, Anna Wintour and her daughter, Bree Shaffer.

Blake, who’s the celebrity face of Chanel’s ‘Mademoiselle’ handbag collection, wore a silver and white sequin Chanel (of course) dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, and Christian Louboutin ‘Salsbourg’ heels. The heels and the dress make for an awkward combination, but there’s something about it that I like. It’s an unexpected pairing, and it kind of shouldn’t work, but somehow Blake makes it happen.

It’s the ‘Salsbourg’ heels that are the mostly divisive part of Blake’s outfit. I have a feeling people will either love them, or hate them, with few opting for ‘they’re okay.’ It’s the kind of accessory that can make or break an outfit, and while I think they work for Blake and her Chanel dress, I’m sure most won’t. Blake isn’t the first celeb to rock the Christian Louboutin ‘Salsbourg,’ though. Chloe Sevigny was seen wearing them back in January, to the season five premiere of Big Love.

If you’re feeling brave, and would like to give the ‘Salsbourg’ a chance, you can get on the wait list for Blake’s exact pair, direct at the Christian Louboutin online store. Or you can choose one of the alternate colors above— black or gold— from Saks, Neimans, or Bergdorfs.
