Say what you want about her vocal stylings as of late, it can’t be denied that Alicia Keys has stepped her fashion game all the way up.
The piano playing star seems as comfortable in her own skin as she’s ever been, expressing that newfound confidence through her decidedly edgier wardrobe. She’s wearing fitted silhouettes, baring her stomach, and showing off some skin.
One fashion house that’s surprisingly become a go-to for Alicia is Azzedine Alaïa.
Alicia has worn looks from the brand to not one, but two high profile events.
She first stood out in Alaîa at Super Bowl XLVII, where she took to the keys of her piano and sang the National Anthem. She wore a brick red sleeveless gown, that featured a fishtail hem. For the occasion, she let the dress do all the talking, accessorizing with only a single choker from Marina B.
At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday night, Alicia again chose Azzedine Alaïa, this time choosing an even edgier look that was definitely befitting of the rockstar occasion. It was an all black ensemble of black fishtail skirt, and black leather croc embossed cut-out cropped top. But the play on textures between the skirt and the top kept things interesting.
