Purple was the color of the moment for Inauguration 2013. There was Sasha Obama in plum Tracy Reese at the official Swearing-In Ceremony, Mrs. O’s J.Crew aubergine leather gloves at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, and Malia Obama’s J.Crew ‘Lady Day’ raspberry colored coat at the same event.
Following the color trend, Gabrielle Union was a red carpet standout at the BET Networks Hosted Inaugural Ball. We’re so accustomed to seeing blacks, greys, and metallics at most celebrity attended formal functions, that it’s quite refreshing to see such a fun splash of color.
