Way back in 2008 we picked up on an emerging red carpet trend of celeb ladies pairing shades of purple with varying hues of turquoise or blue. Hollywood fashionistas like Cameron Diaz, Becki Newton, and Jurnee Smollett were mixing their colors, and doing it quite well.
Skip ahead a few years (four to be exact), and the purple/turquoise combo is making a red carpet comeback. At the Angel Ball 2012, both Angela Simmons and model Crystal Renn wore berry colored dresses, and paired them with blue accessories.
Angela wore a one-shoulder Roberto Cavalli number, that she paired with strappy gold sandals, and accessorized with blue jeweled drop earrings. Soft makeup, and sleek hair completed her look.
Considering she’s a favorite of the designer, it was no surprise to see model Crystal Renn wearing Zac Posen. She was giving good model face as she posed for photographers inside the event. She, too, opted to accent her magenta dress with blue jewelry, but her drop hoop earrings are more on the green end of the color spectrum, providing an added pop of unexpected color.
