On paper, wearing leather anything during the warm weather months of summer seems like an awful idea. But actress Kerry Washington made a go of it at Comic Con 2012 during a presentation for her upcoming film, Django Unchained.

Kerry paired a sleeveless leather button down shirt from A.L.C. with a floral knee-length skirt from the J. Mendel Resort 2013 collection. Not only is she challenging the conventional wisdom of wearing leather during the summer, but she’s also boldly pairing heavy black leather with a light floral motif.
