There’s a new Olsen sister on the block, and she’s cut from the same fashion cloth as her famous siblings. Mary-Kate and Ashley’s baby sis Elizabeth Olsen (can’t you see the resemblance?) made her red carpet debut at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, presenting her new film Martha Marcy May Marlene. If early buzz is any indication, Elizabeth is well on her way to blazing her own trail through the industry.
Though she’s flying solo, and has so far paved a Hollywood path that’s been a part from her sisters, Elizabeth isn’t stepping onto the world’s stage without their support. At both the Martha Marcy May Marlene photocall, and its official Cannes premiere, she wore looks exclusively from The Row, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s luxury apparel and accessories brand.
Both of Elizabeth’s looks are from The Row’s Fall 2011 collection, but that’s where the obvious similarities between outfits end. Her day photocall look was white, light, and airy. Her floor length lace gown is appropriately modified from its runway counterpart; the runway sweater would’ve been too heavy both visually and for the beautiful weather.
For her film’s evening premiere, Elizabeth opted for a dark and vampy, black floor length gown with matching black beaded top. Taken in with her headpiece, and loosely waved hair, Elizabeth’s complete look is a contemporary take on the ’20s flapper.
We’ll more than likely be seeing more of Elizabeth Olsen, and it will be interesting to watch her red carpet style develop. Will she be wearing more from her sisters’ various fashion labels? Or will she venture out on her own, and take a few fashion leaps.
