Out with the old, in with the new. That’s how the saying goes, right? Well, two of the modeling industry’s most well known agencies, are doing a little end of the year cleanup. Amber Rose, former girlfriend of rapper Kanye West, was dropped from Ford Models, and Twilight actress Dakota Fanning was picked up by IMG, home to a few legendary faces like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Tyra Banks.
Amber signed with Ford back in September of 2009, during the heyday of her relationship with Kanye. The reason behind her split with the agency remains unknown, and the only reason news of Amber’s dismissal became public, was because Page Six posted a story about the model’s possible new romance with Knicks player Amar’e Stoudemire, and included an almost throw away line about Ford saying they no longer represented Amber.
As quietly as Amber was let go from Ford, was Dakota Fanning added to IMG. With no formal announcement from the actress’ reps, or from IMG’s PR department, it was NYLON Magazine who spotted Dakota’s addition to the IMG Models Board. It’s too soon to determine exactly what will come from this Dakota Fanning/IMG partnership, especially considering neither party has acknowledged their professional relationship. But maybe this means the young starlet has a fashion campaign or two on her horizon.
