Designer Jason Wu easily had one of my favorite collections of the Spring 2011 fashion season. It was ultra-feminine with soft ruffles, amazing gowns, and gauzy chiffon materials. Both beautiful and distinctive, you would think we’d have seen more of this collection on the red carpet by now, considering the number of looks from spring shows that have been spotted on various celebs. No worries though. Pop Magazine editor-at-large, Shala Monroque, does Jason Wu well, wearing the closing look of his collection to the 7th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.

If you’re not familiar with Shala and her impeccable style, read more about her here at her personal blog. In the meantime, a quick bullet note on her fashion sense, she has a thing for turbans and wears them extremely well. I love the pairing of her fuchsia dress, and electric blue chapeau. It’s a unique color combination that we don’t often see on the red carpet, because it’s not easily worn, but it’s an excellent look for her.

I love the dress, but I’m not feeling the turban. However, I do like the color combination.
