Google has entered the fashion game with the launch of Boutiques.com, their shopping/visual search engine for purchasing clothes, accessories, and shoes. From the Boutiques.com website:
Boutiques.com is a personalized shopping experience, brought to you by Google, that lets you find and discover fashion goods through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers — celebrities, stylists, designers, and fashion bloggers. Boutiques uses visual technology to help fashionistas discover and shop their look and creates the opportunity for designers to showcase their collections and latest inspirations online.
Honestly, after playing around at the site for a bit, it reminds me a lot of Shopstyle.com, but not as stylish or as smooth. Boutiques.com is still in beta though, so perhaps once the kinks are smoothed out, we’ll have two competitive shopping services going on. In the meantime, Google held a launch party for their new service last night, and some of the fashion industry’s brightest stars came out to show support. Supermodel and host of Bravo’s The Fashion Show, Iman, stopped by in a grey and navy ensemble that’s perfect for winter.
Her navy blazer paired with loose grey slacks, a casual grey tee, and black wedge ankle boots, combine to create an effortlessly chic look, that isn’t difficult to replicate. Below you’ll find pieces at a variety of price points, that will help you do just that.
