Okay, so this fashion face off might be a little on the unfair side. Victoria Beckham, and Glee’s Lea Michele were both recently seen wearing this champagne colored, long sleeved, belted dress from the Fall 2010 Victoria Beckham collection. Unfair advantage number one, it’s Victoria’s own design, so of course it looks great on her. Unfair advantage number two, Victoria is wearing the dress as part of a fashion editorial in the November 2010 issue of Marie Claire, as such, her look styled for maximum impact.
Victoria looks great in Victoria Beckham. Lea on the other hand, looks like she’s wearing a fancy bathrobe, plus the look is just too mature for her. If I didn’t know she was only twenty-four years old, I wouldn’t be able to tell, based on that photo. She doesn’t look bad in the least, I just think there were other looks that she could have gone with. Lea’s a Hollywood newbie though, and it’s clear that she and her stylists are still ironing out her red carpet style.

I LOVE LEA! She’s incredibly talented and beautiful. It’s nice to see a young women get recognition for talent, rather than being a drunk (I’mlookingatyouSnooki), but in this case Posh looks better in the dress. I agree, though, that this comparison is unfair — a stylized photo vs a candid is not fair in the least. I wish she would have worn something short, though — Lea has got fantastic legs! Don’t believe me? Look at her Grammy’s dress. To die for!! LOVE YA, LEA!!!!!
Julie, you’re so right. It is a nice change to see a young woman in Hollywood get recognized for some honest talent.
