She’s just released her first novel, Elixir, and now Hilary Duff is hitting the promotional trail. The former Disney starlet stopped by Live with Regis and Kelly wearing a deep purple Alexander McQueen sheath dress. Hilary’s dress retails for $1,365 at Neiman Marcus, but you can get the same look with this empress purple ‘Ponti-Roma’ pencil dress from ASOS. At $67.40, the nearly identical ASOS dress is a huge savings.

I like this dress. I think Hilary looks good in it. She’s definitely coming into her own. I Why is it that every celebrity can get a book deal, and yet so many great writer never get published? O yeah, because they are celebrities. I’m not hating, just making an observation. It seems almost every time I blink some new celeb has a book coming out.

Hilary has a co-author, Elise Allen, but her name isn’t on the cover of the book.
