Trendspotting…Purple and Turquoise

It looks like Hollywood has a new favorite color combination– purple and turquoise. Cameron Diaz was an early adopter of the trend when she wore a berry color Christian Dior gown paired with turquoise jewelry to last year’s Costume Institute Gala.

Last month, though, Ugly Betty actress Becki Newton brought the look back by pairing her purple dress with turquoise pumps and earrings.

And with a third time making it an official trend, actress Jurnee Smollett paired a purple blouse with a turquoise necklace to the New York premiere of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.

I have to say that I’m a major fan of this latest celebrity trend. When Cameron first wore this color combination, a lot of people dissed her look, but I liked it then, and I still like it now. But what do you think? Is this a look you’ll be sporting?

I actually like the deeper purple combined with turquoise and royal purple definitely seems like a hot color for fall.

Oh, I love this combination! IT’s very eyecatching, definently something I’ll try.

I don’t think Cameron has ever looked better. That look is bright, eye-catching, interesting, but surprisingly not clashy.

I never really liked turquoise very much before this trend, because I associate it with that southwestern style — lots of silver and suede fringe, you know? I don’t like that too much. But with purple, turquoise takes on a whole new personality. Love it!

Seeing Cameron’s combination of an all too bright turquiose with that dress makes not even wanna try this trend. Lol
