By now, I’m sure you’ve got your hands on Vogue Italia‘s famous black issue. Or maybe you haven’t. Apparently, the mag has sold out everywhere, forcing Condé Nast, the publishers of Vogue, to reprint the issue– a historic first for the company. For those in the industry who say black faces, or minority ones for that matter, don’t sell magazines, Vogue Italia is proving them wrong. But what do you think? Is it the novelty of this particular issue that’s getting people to buy the mag? Or, despite what the industry thinks, can black faces actually sell magazines?

I have my copy and I love it! I bought it because at the end of the day, these are all beautiful BLACK women who all bring (or have brought) something different to the table as models..they’ve surpassed stereotypes and expectations to get success. (i.e. Naomi Campbell) I’m praying for the day that there won’t be a need for a “black issue” but we’re accepted in the mainstream as individuals..not skin color.. oh, and the photography is BREATH-TAKING of course! ;D
