It’s that wonderful time of the year when designers get to truly bend their creative muscles, and treat us to the artistic side of fashion design. Yes, it’s time for Paris’ Spring Couture Week 2008. Of all the collections, John Galliano‘s designs for Christian Dior are always my favorite. Last year he created a stylized Japanese Geisha collection, but this year John’s decided to use Symbolist painters for inspiration, and inspire, they did. I think my favorite feature of the Christian Dior collection, is John Galliano’s talent for combining colors. The turquoise and orange in the dress model Chanel Iman is wearing above, is a unique combination that you would think wouldn’t work. But John Galliano manages to not only make them work, but also make them look fabulous. There were so many pieces that I could call my favorite out of this collection, but I had to choose a few to share with you. One thing I know for sure, though, is that I love the models’ shoes. Hopefully those will make their way from runway to retail store really soon. To see the entire collection, check out Style.com.

art has done a good work.
It’s couture, it is not supposed to be wearable, it is art. Look at the “ready wear collections” to see wearable fashion. This collection is inspiring. Beautiful.
hmm this collection is a bit out there. some of these desings i have seen on other catwalks.
i think Dior could do better
but overall very beautiful designs.
He is my favourite Designer along with Marc` Jacobs.
people really go over board with designing.it’s really good to work your imagination but thats what artists are for. i mean really who wheres this stuff? I have never seen any body or celebrity where this stuff ever. how do they make money? i’m not saying it’s not creative but there kinda over done and ugly. they ned to tone it down a little.
omg !

The color combos are fab but the shoes are to die for! If I had the dough, I’d have a pair in every color shown!
I agree 100%. John Galliano is a genius, and his collections never disappoint.
He’s my favourite too. :-)
