Angie Harmon in Malandrino
I’ve been a fan of Angie Harmon ever since her days on Baywatch Nights (yes, I used to love that show, lol). So it’s nice to see her out and about looking great. I think deciding whether Angie or the model looks better comes down to if you prefer black or white. I personally like the the black version of this Malandrino creation, so I pick Angie as the winner of this fashion face off. The model looks good too, though (except for her hair, lol).

Joy Bryant in Zac Posen
Joy Bryant always looks as though she doesn’t try, and I mean that in a good way. Every time she steps out, it’s like her style is effortless and second nature. That being said though, I really can’t decide who I think wears this Zac Posen gown better. I think I’ll choose the model, only because I think her hair works better with the dress. I guess it’s kind of unfair to include Joy in the celebway versus runway, seeing as how she’s a model herself, lol.

Sarah Michelle Gellar in Temperley
I love, love, love Sarah Michelle Gellar. Seriously, how can you not like Buffy? I think Sarah looks better in this Temperley gown, mainly because I believe the turquoise color looks fabulous on her. Yeah, the dress may be a wardrobe malfunction waiting happen, but Sarah looks great in it nonetheless. Points to Sarah’s stylist for choosing this version of the dress, because I don’t think the black would have been as fab on her. See ladies, color makes all the difference.

Selma Blair in Chanel
This is a difficult one, because although this dress is Chanel, it’s one that’s difficult to successfully pull off. I think both the model and Selma do their best, but ultimately the model falls victim to poor styling choices. Seeing this dress on the runway, you wouldn’t think it was wearable in ‘real’ life, but Selma Blair manages to make it do just that. By removing the black tights, and adding a pair of d’Orsay pumps, Selma turns this little black dress into one that I’d love to have in my closet. Clearly I think the celebway wins this battle.
Did I get them right? Who do you think looks best?

well i don’t know, but what i do know is that you have officially made me a loyal reader of your site! i love how you put your comment down and explain them without feeling defensive. it seems like you haven’t been blogging for a long time, which is such a shame. please come back! i’d love to see what you have to say about fashion and the like.
I agree with Angie Harmon choice, the red dress is just hideous no matter who wears it, Buffy has very weird shot, her head looks huge and the dress just hangs on her, which probably not the case at all. Chanel model look more chic and the black hoses is obviously the better choice as they add length to ever tall model vs Selma who looks like she has no legs and that white I-don’t-know-what-it-is thing just made Chanel look trashy.
I agree with your two firsts comments, but for the Temperley dress I think it does look cheaper in turquoise even if I love SMG!
And for the Chanel dress I think the choice of the heels, the tights, and the scarf is much better than Selma’s choice: the white thing she added doesn’t work, the heels are not as beautiful as the model’s and she looks really small & white. She should have worn much higher heels. I personally think the model’s version would totally be wearable with a nice leather jacket or Chanel tweed coat (I could totally see this kind of outfit in The devil wears Prada), whereas Selma’s outfit would only work for a cocktail party.
i actually disagree. i think that selma picked the wrong cut for her, which makes her look very short. shes also very pale wihch makes this all black ensemble look very “adams family” because the model had it as a short dress (or is it because shes tall) it made her legs look longer rather then stubby as it did on selma.
angie, the model, sarah michelle, the model [i love the tights and shoes w/it)
Oh I love Angie Harmon. She’s perpetually sophisticated and casual, yet undeniably chic.
I agree 100%, celebway rules (although raquel looks better in the zac posen)…
xx
