Trendspotting…Over The Knee Boots

I’m always on the lookout for a great boot, and I have to say that I love this new over the knee trend. Once relegated to the category of hooker heels, this modern take on over the knee boots is both versatile and wearable. Each of the celebs seen above, Rihanna, Hilary Duff, and Hayden Panettiere, have chosen to wear their over the knee boots in a different way. While both Rihanna and Hilary are wearing flats, Rihanna opted for a chic suede boot with a pointed toe, while Hilary has gone more of the biker chic route with leather and a rounded toe. Hayden on the other hand, is wearing the type of boot that most people think of when they hear ‘over the knee boot.’ It’s kind of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, but surprisingly, it doesn’t come off as skanky on Hayden (at least not to me, lol). Hayden toes the line of skanky v. trendy but stays on the trendy side by keeping the rest of her outfit classic.

This is another one of those trends that’s either hit or miss, and not easy to wear. But, don’t let that stop you from trying it! If you’re gonna give over the knee boots a try, just wear them confidently. Half the battle of looking fly, is just believing in what you’re wearing.
