Five Must Have Celebrity Haircuts for Spring

by Norell Alesse on May 9, 2007

celebrity haircuts

So far this spring, we’ve seen so many celeb hairstyles. There’s been long layers, short layers, bobs, weaves, color, natural. It’s all so much to digest. If you’ve been thinking of getting a new cut or style for the summer, I’ve chosen the top five celebrity haircuts that you might want to try. Take a look, a pick out the cut that you think will work best for you.

5. The Pixie Cut
Worn by: Michelle Williams, Selma Blair
Selma Blair Michelle Williams Pixie Cut
The pixie is for the bold batches! out there. For those of you who aren’t afraid of change, this cut would be perfect. With something this short, all attention will definitely be on your face. So in the words of Diddy, please make sure you moisturize you situation, lol. Both Michelle and Selma look mod and chic with this haircut, and I’m sure any of you who try will look just as hot. This cut is probably the most dramatic as you can get. If you go for this look, there’s definitely no going back. On the plus side though, I’m sure this is extremely easy to maintain.

4. Long Layers
Worn by: Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson - Mandy Moore - Long Layers
Long Layers are for those who want the slightest of change. You want to get some body in your long locks? Just add a few layers, like Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson. The layers add volume and body to any hair length, but look exceptional in longer lengths. If you decide you want to go back to a straight and even look, just flat iron your layers. Layers are a subtle change, but they’re perfect for those who just want to try something new without the risk of shorter cuts.

3. Shoulder Length
Worn by: Melissa George, Kelly Clarckson
Melissa George - Kellys Clarkson
Perhaps you have long hair, and only want minimal change. Then go shoulder length. This cut is very versatile. You can add soft curls like Alias actress Melissa George, or you can keep it straight and add a side swept bang like Kelly Clarkson. If you’re afraid that people won’t notice the change, believe me, they will. Cutting off two to three inches of your hair will make just the right difference in your look. It’s not too much, of too little. It will be just right.

2. The Inverted Bob
Worn by: Victoria Beckham, Rihanna
Rihanna - Victoria Beckham - Inverted Bob
The inverted bob is perfect for those of you who want to go short, but are afraid of losing your length. You get to have the best of both worlds. In the front, your hair is still longish, and you get the short cut you were afraid of in the back. This looks works for a variety of face shapes, and it’s definitely an eye catching look. I rocked this cut last summer, and it made any outfit I wore look trendy and stylish. If you want a change, I definitely recommend this one.

1. Bangs
Worn by: Everyone!
Kate Walsh - Halle Berry - Christina Ricci - Hilary Duff - bangs
Bangs have obviously been big amongst the celebs this season. It seems as though everyone is sporting them right now. The fabulous thing with bangs is, they work for almost anyone, and if you get tired of them, you can just sweep them to the side. Bangs definitely give you the most bang for your buck. Just a little snip, and you’ve instantly made a noticeable change with your look. Bangs are for those who are really afraid to make a change, but really want to. It’s a subtle change, but one that people notice. Plus you have several options if you decide your new bangs really aren’t for you. A headband is the number one bang camouflager.

I think that everyone has their own style. Some people CAN have bangs. Like the gorgeous Alyssa Milano. SO I think that if someone can pull off a look, or are happy with it, by all means GET IT!
