Las Vegas is known for being all about gambling, and partying, and fun– What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But what you may not know is that Las Vegas is also a hot fashion destination. Cute boutiques, designer flagship stores, and high end outlet malls, Las Vegas has something to suit any fashionista’s discerning tastes. If you’re a batch heading on a trip to sin city, or plan on one day owning a little Las Vegas real estate, I’ve picked out a few places you’ll be interested in.
The shopping includes many local boutiques, like Pat Areias. Featuring the work of silversmith Pat Areias, this self titled boutique allows shoppers to create their own belts. You just choose one of Areias’ hand crafted belt buckles– equestrian, mod, art deco–then choose a leather strap, and you’re good to go.
Aside from boutiques, Desert Passage also has your not so average mall fare. There’s Betsey Johnson, with her eclectic fashion style, and a large Sephora store, where you can find solutions for all your beauty needs.
And if you ever need a break from the shopping, there’s always the Stripper 101 classes located in the V theater, which is also found in Desert Passage at the Aladdin.
Fashion Show Mall
Las Vegas’ Fashion Show Mall is more of your traditional mall– if your traditional mall includes The Cloud, a 400-f00t-long canopy suspended over a plaza in front of the mall with large screens that broadcast special events. Fashion Show is anchored by six flagship department stores, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s Home, and Nevada’s only Nordstrom.
Fashion Show is Vegas’ largest shopping destination, with over 10 million visitors annually, and in addition to the six department stores, the center also has over 200 boutique and chain shops. Talulah G is a local favorite, and probably Vegas’ best known boutique. They feature emerging fashion labels like Karen Sambos and Crimes and Misdemeanors, but you can also find established brands like Chloe and Sonia Rykiel.
The fashion show moniker isn’t just a name either. There are fashion shows at the center throughout the week.
Dessert Passage and Fashion Show have stores that cater to every price range. Mandalay Place on the other hand, caters more to the high end crowd. Featuring world class designers and retailers, at Mandalay Place you’ll find the latest in fashion and trends.
Mandalay Place is home to Just Cavalli, celebrity favorite Roberto Cavalli’s latest concept store, featuring his casual couture collection. For those looking for an L.A. shopping experience, head over to LOOK!, a shopping favorite for both locals and tourists. At LOOK! one can find the latest jeans, trendy tops, and cute dresses. They feature many well known brands, including Citizens of Humanity, Juicy Couture, Seven Jeans, and L.A.M.B.
Mandaly Place can be reached from both the Mandalay Bay resort and casino, and also the Luxor. The 100,000 squae-foot retail center is located on a sky bridge that connects both Mandalay Bay and Luxor.
