Well London Fashion Week has come to an end, but before it was over, I decided to take my own advice and learn about some new designers. After going through photos of various runway shows, there were two designers that I fell in love with, Gavin Douglas and Bora Aksu. This first post is all about Gavin.

Gavin Douglas Fashion was launched in 2004 by fashion designer Gavin Douglas. Through his designs Gavin has attempted to bring urban couture to fashionistas who desire a truly unique look. Gavin’s signature style is combining urban trends with couture silhouettes; creating distinct garments.

According to his personal website, Gavin Douglas is a:

A talented artist, with professional qualifications and training in the fashion / textile industry, Gavin Douglas is a dynamic, young designer who carefully researches, designs and crafts each individual piece of clothing, ensuring its uniqueness and high quality. The concepts for each collection are developed through sketches, before patterns are drafted, toiled and transformed into the final pieces.

I loved his collection. It was feminine, and trendy, yet it had a vintage flair. Looks like Christina Aguilera was ahead of the game when she switched her look up to 40s vintage. Gavin’s collection definitely has that same vibe, but on a more luxurious, black-and-white movie feel. These are the type of clothes that make a woman feel like a woman, lol. I picked out some of my favorite pieces from the collection, but you can view the entire show at Elle.com. And if you want to learn more about Gavin check out his personal website.
